Mercy Fort Smith Celebrates New Cardiology, Oncology-Hematology Clinics

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Mercy Fort Smith recently welcomed community leaders, caregivers and providers to celebrate the recent opening of two new specialty clinics at Mercy Tower West, further expanding access to cardiovascular and cancer care in the River Valley.

The events marked an important milestone in Mercy's ongoing commitment to bring advanced care closer to home. Visitors had the opportunity to see the new clinics – Mercy Clinic Cardiology – Tower West and Mercy Oncology & Hematology – Fort Smith Tower West, both at 6801 Rogers Ave. – meet providers and learn more about the growing specialty services available through Mercy. 

Dr. Abdul Nasser Adjei, an interventional cardiologist with more than two decades of experience living and practicing in the Fort Smith region, joined Mercy in July, where he provides advanced cardiovascular care to patients across the River Valley. Dr. Robert Parris, cardiologist and internal medicine specialist, also joined Mercy Fort Smith this summer and recently began seeing patients at the Tower West location alongside Mercy’s team of cardiologists and providers. Mercy Fort Smith’s cardiology care also includes Mercy Clinic Cardiology - 7001 Rogers Avenue.

The new oncology and hematology clinic is strengthening Mercy's cancer care services and complements both Mercy Oncology and Hematology - Fort Smith 7001 Rogers Avenue and the cancer center currently under construction on the hospital campus. Among the Tower West clinic's providers is Dr. Varant Arzoumanian, who recently joined Mercy's growing cancer care team. Dr. Arzoumanian brings years of oncology experience and is widely recognized for his dedication to serving cancer patients throughout the River Valley.

The clinic offers comprehensive oncology and hematology services delivered by an experienced, collaborative care team, helping patients access specialized treatment close to home. Joining Dr. Arzoumanian at the clinic are Catherine Flannigan, APRN-CNP; Kayla Michelle Moury, PA; and Maria Rosal Visagas Sanchez, APRN-CNP.

Amy Fore, vice president of patient services at Mercy Fort Smith, said the additions reflect Mercy's commitment to meeting the growing healthcare needs of the region.

"These new clinic locations and highly skilled providers represent Mercy's continued investment in the communities we serve," Fore said. "By expanding both cardiovascular and cancer care services, we're ensuring patients throughout the River Valley have access to exceptional specialty care close to home."
