At Mercy, your family is our family. And we know that all families play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of infants, children, adolescents and family members of all ages. That's why we put your family at the heart of how we deliver healthcare to ensure your emotional, social and developmental needs are met. We do this by listening and respecting each family's perspectives and choices, sharing information to assist in decision making, and allowing patients and families to participate in the delivery of care.
In addition to the nurses and doctors on staff, many other members of the health care team will be assisting your child during his stay. Staff members from X-ray, respiratory therapy, laboratory, housekeeping, physical therapy, surgery and transportation are just a few of the many people your child may come in contact with during his time at Mercy Children’s Hospital Springfield.
When a staff member comes to your child’s room, she will greet you, tell you what department she’s from, and the purpose of the visit. Please know that even though you may see many faces during your child’s hospitalization, we are all working together for the benefit of your child’s health.
