Mercy recently welcomed Dr. Kelsey LeMay to Mercy Clinic OB/GYN in Ardmore last fall. She is now seeing patients at Mercy’s primary care location, 415 W. Guy Ave., in Pauls Valley to provide more women’s health options to the community.
“I’ve always had a strong desire to use my skills and training in rural Oklahoma,” said Dr. LeMay. “I try to provide information and education that helps my patients achieve their health goals and make the best decisions regarding their care.”
Originally from Paoli, Oklahoma, Dr. LeMay received a bachelor’s degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and a medical degree from OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She later completed an OB/GYN residency at the OU-TU School of Community Medicine in Tulsa.
“Initially, I was drawn to OB/GYN because I enjoy caring for pregnant patients and have always been interested in the changes that occur during pregnancy,” Dr. LeMay said. “It can be a very vulnerable time in a woman’s life, and she needs support from her physician to be an active participant in her health.”
Dr. LeMay is also passionate about adolescent women’s health care.
“An adolescent girl’s first encounter with an OB/GYN is such an important visit and will shape how they approach women’s health for the rest of their life,” said Dr. LeMay. “I am committed to setting up a good foundation of trust during that initial visit that will hopefully lead to a lifetime of knowledge and good health.”
