Children’s Mercy Officially Takes Over Leadership of Pediatric Specialty Care in Southwest Missouri

November 3, 2025

Children’s Mercy, an independent children’s health system and a national leader in pediatric translational research, is thrilled to announce that, as of November 1, its pediatric specialty services are now available in Springfield bringing nationally recognized expertise closer to home for families in southwest Missouri.

In August, Children’s Mercy and Mercy Springfield Communities entered into a Joint Operating Agreement that brings the strengths of both organizations together to better serve families. Through this collaboration, Children’s Mercy is now working alongside Mercy Hospital Springfield to manage hospital-based pediatric specialty services.
