Please observe these guidelines while you are on our campus:
- As with any public place, there remains a chance for exposure to COVID-19 while in our facilities
- We’ll provide a medical-grade mask for all visitors to wear over the nose and mouth.
- Suppose you’re not feeling well or have been COVID-19-positive or exposed. Within the last ten days* please refrain from visiting Mercy patients.
- Visiting some patients may require extra precautions.
COVID-19 positive patients in isolation may have visitors at this time that follow these additional rules.

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Visitor Resources
Mercy’s goal is to provide you with the best care. For your health and safety, we have visitor hours and guidelines to help you, your family, and your care team during your hospital stay in St. Louis. Please take a few minutes to review this information with your loved ones.
General Hospital Visiting Hours
Our open visiting policy allows visitors 24/7 access, but please be mindful of our patients who need rest.
Maternity Visiting Hours
The patient's primary support person may visit anytime. During labor, additional visitors are limited, depending on the clinical situation. Other family members or friends are asked to stay in the family waiting area. All children, including siblings, must be accompanied by an adult.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Visiting Hours
Only two visitors can see a patient at any given time. ICU staff may further limit visitors at their discretion.
Pediatric/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Visitors over 18 are allowed, though visitation is still closed to siblings and anyone under 18 due to winter viruses. Only parents/guardians are permitted to stay overnight with the patient.

Visitors bring emotional support and enhanced recovery to our patients. To provide a restful and safe environment, we ask that all visitors at Mercy Hospital St. Louis comply with the following guidelines:
- Be considerate of other patients by minimizing noise in the room, hallway, and waiting area.
- Feel free to use the lounges and seating areas available on most patient floors and in the main lobby.
- Children under 12 must have adult supervision at all times while visiting. Children may be restricted from certain areas in the hospital to protect vulnerable patients from infection.
- Please refrain from visiting if you have a cold, sore throat, or contagious disease.
- Visitors must comply with hand washing and infection control policies as requested.
- Please do not bring food or beverages to a patient unless the doctor or nurse approves.
- Patient restrooms are restricted to patient use only. Visitors should use public restrooms throughout the hospital.
- Observe “No Visiting” and precaution signs before entering a room.
- Smoking or vaping is not allowed on our hospital campus.
- Please leave the room during tests or treatments if asked.
- Feel free to use the lounges and seating areas available on most patient floors and in the main lobby.
- Visitors are expected to be courteous and respectful to the patients, hospital staff, medical staff, and Mercy property.
If a patient faces an end-of-life prognosis, the physician may make exceptions so that the emotional needs of the patient and family are met.
Mercy reserves the right to change current policies for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff during a pandemic, public health emergency, or other exceptional circumstances.
Clean Hands In, Clean Hands Out.
With one simple act, you can help Mercy keep our patients safer: Wash or sanitize your hands on the way in and out. Patients in our hospitals and clinics are vulnerable to infections. Cleaning your hands is the best way to help prevent the spread of germs.
Clean in.
Before entering a Mercy hospital, patient room, or exam room, wash or sanitize your hands. Hand sanitizer stations and public restrooms are available throughout our hospitals and clinics.
Clean out.
Always wash or sanitize your hands after touching any surface in a hospital or exam room, before eating, and after using the restroom.
Patient safety is in our clean hands.
Mercy has a hand-hygiene monitoring system with voice reminders for our caregivers. When you hear these reminders, join us in cleaning your hands. Together, we can give patients the safest possible care.
Directions to Mercy Hospital St. Louis
Our centrally located campus is at I-270 and I-64/US 40 in west St. Louis County. Our address is 615 S. New Ballas Road, St. Louis, MO 63141. Download a hospital campus map.
Hospital Transportation to Mercy Hospital St. Louis
Metro Transit-St serves Mercy. Louis, with buses making stops on Ballas Road near all hospital entrances and in the parking lot outside the main door. View the St. Louis Metro schedule.
Mercy Hospital St. Louis Parking
Free parking is available near all hospital entrances and the surrounding medical buildings. Remember to lock your car and keep valuables in the trunk.
Mercy Hospital St. Louis Shuttle Service
Free shuttle service is available from all parking lots to the hospital entrances and medical buildings. Go to any patient entrance and press the shuttle button, or call 314-251-6050.
Mercy Hospital St. Louis Valet Parking
Free valet parking is offered Monday through Friday at four St. Louis hospital locations:
- Medical Tower A: 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Heart Hospital: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- David C. Pratt Cancer Center: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Emergency Department: 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

West County Ronald McDonald House
The West County Ronald McDonald House on our campus in St. Louis provides lodging for parents and families of hospitalized children at little or no cost.
Catherine's Cafeteria
The cafeteria at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Catherine's Cafeteria, is located near the north elevators on the first floor. It offers many hot and cold foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Catherine's Cafeteria Hours:
- Breakfast: 6 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 3:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Night Shift: 11 p.m. - 3 a.m.
McAuley's Mocha and More
Our gourmet coffee bar is on the hospital's first floor in the back of the main lobby, near the south elevators. It's open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Market Express
The self-serve Market Express is located in the back of the Catherine’s Cafeteria seating area on the first floor near the north elevators. It offers a variety of grab and go meals, snacks, and beverages 24/7.
Vending Machines
Vending machines offering beverages and snacks are available throughout the St. Louis hospital campus.
Mercy Hospital St. Louis Gift Shop
Located in the main lobby, the Mercy Hospital St. Louis Gift Shop offers special-occasion and baby gifts, jewelry, magazines, books, greeting cards, candy, toiletries, flowers and plants. Flowers are delivered by volunteers or by the florist. You can reach the Gift Shop at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at 314-251-6293 to order flowers and other items.
*Please note that flowers and plants are prohibited in the Intensive Care Units or the Burn Center.
Gift Shop Hours
The gift shop at Mercy Hospital St. Louis is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Meds to Beds Pharmacy Delivery
Get take-home medication delivered to your room at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. No need to stop on the way home from the hospital. Mercy in-hospital pharmacists can have the medications you need to take home delivered to your room prior to discharge. Be sure to speak with your doctor, nurse, or another member of your Mercy care team about delivery options. If you have any medication questions, contact the Mercy pharmacist at 314-251-6900.
Mercy Pharmacy participates in many health plans. Call 314-251-6900 to see if your plan is included call 314-251-6900. Medicaid benefits are also accepted. Please show your Medicaid papers to the pharmacy staff before filling your prescriptions. We accept cash and most credit cards for payments and co-pays.

Smoke-Free Hospital
Mercy Hospital St. Louis has a campus-wide no-smoking policy in accordance with Joint Commission accreditation standards. Mercy is concerned about your health. If you smoke or know someone who smokes, please consider quitting. Get free resources and support from Mercy’s smoking cessation programs.
For the Deaf and Hearing Impaired
An interpreter, assistive listening devices, telecommunications devices (TDD), and closed-caption televisions are available at no cost for deaf and hard of hearing patients at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Ask your nurse for assistance.
Free Medical Interpreters Available
Language interpreters and translation services are available to patients at no cost for effective communication of medical treatment, obtaining consent for procedures or tests, and providing information about health care recommendations, education, instructions, medications, diagnoses, and prognoses.

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Chapel
Our chapel is on the first floor, between the Heart Hospital and the entrance to the cafeteria or the North Elevators. It’s open 24/7 and provides people of all faiths with a quiet place for prayer and meditation. Catholic Mass is also offered in the chapel.
