Mercy Announces Medical Team Lineup for 2026 St. Louis Cardinals Season

ST. LOUIS - As the St. Louis Cardinals prepare for a new season, Mercy’s 2026 Cardinals medical team is set and ready to go. Since 2013, Mercy’s lineup of multispecialty physicians has cared for the Redbirds, ensuring they are at peak performance all year long.

Mercy’s team traveled to spring training in Jupiter, Florida, along with players. They ensured the Cardinals were up to date with any well care needed before the season began and are always on deck and ready for illnesses or injuries throughout the season.

“We continue to build a strong team to care for one of the most historic baseball teams in the country, keeping them healthy and at the top of their game,” said Dr. Shalen Kouk, Mercy orthopedic surgeon and head team physician for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Combined, the Mercy medical team treating the Cardinals has more than 50 years of experience in working with athletes from professional to college, high school to weekend warriors.

On Monday, March 23, the St. Louis Cardinals take on their AA minor league affiliate Springfield Cardinals in their final tuneup for the 2026 at Hammons Field in Springfield – Cards vs. Cards presented by Mercy. Mercy physicians care for both teams.
