Mercy Bolsters Access to Specialty and Surgical Care With New Clinics in Sikeston

June 9, 2026

New and established patients can now receive their gastroenterology, cardiology and surgical care closer to home with Mercy’s newest clinics in Sikeston.

All three clinics started seeing patients last month inside SEMO Health Network’s Sikeston Medical Center, 200 Southland Drive, Sikeston. Along with the existing Mercy Pediatrics – Sikeston on Virginia Street, Mercy now has four clinics in Sikeston.

“We’re excited to work with our friends at SEMO Health Network to bring more of Mercy’s high-quality, low-cost care to patients in Sikeston,” said Jason Emmenderfer, Mercy Southeast’s executive director of specialty service lines. “We want to meet patients where they are, and this expansion means they can get the care they need without having to travel to an appointment with their physician in Cape Girardeau or Dexter. They can now see them right here at home.”

Mercy Clinic Heart and Vascular – Sikeston is led by Dr. Chizor Iwuchukwu and Dr. Munis Raza, who will each see patients once per month in Sikeston. Both will provide a full range of cardiac care including preventive heart care, consultations, cardiac testing and diagnosis, and treatment of coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders and congestive heart failure.

Dr. Joseph McCadams will lead Mercy Clinic General Surgery – Sikeston. At the new location, patients can make appointments for surgical consultations, post-op visits and follow-up care. Dr. McCadams will visit patients every Tuesday in Sikeston.

“With the opening of our surgical clinic in Sikeston, we’re fulfilling our promise to see more patients in Southeast Missouri,” said Dr. McCadams. “In the last six months, we proudly expanded our clinic to Dexter and Poplar Bluff, ensuring patients can receive the same exceptional surgical care they’ve come to trust while remaining close to home.”

A dedicated team of physicians and advanced practice providers will see patients at Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology – Sikeston. Dr. Shane Hendon, Dr. Brent Keller, Dr. Cody Kern, nurse practitioner Kaitlin Roslen, and physician assistant Mimi Kingery will rotate schedules to see Sikeston patients. The gastroenterology team will provide a full spectrum of care to diagnose and treat digestive health disorders such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other GI conditions. Patients can be seen at the Sikeston GI clinic every Wednesday.
