ADA, Okla. – Longtime Oklahoma hospital leader Bobby Stitt is assuming day-to-day oversight of Mercy Hospital Ada, becoming its chief administrative officer effective Oct. 13.
Stitt, a U.S. Air Force veteran who started his health care career as a nurse, will provide day-to-day administrative oversight of the hospital under the leadership of Daryle Voss, president of Mercy Southern Oklahoma Communities.
“It’s a blessing to have the opportunity to lead the incredibly talented and dedicated caregivers at Mercy Hospital Ada,” said Stitt. “A hospital is an inspiring place to work because health care workers have healing gifts that benefit others. I’m excited and honored to work alongside my new caregivers in Ada, and to meet my new neighbors in the community.”
Stitt currently serves as administrator of Mercy’s critical access hospitals in Kingfisher, Logan County and Watonga.
He started his health care career in 2006 as a nurse at Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City, moving a year later into a leadership role at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. He first became administrator of Mercy Hospital Watonga in 2012, adding Mercy Hospital Logan County in 2017 and Kingfisher in 2019.
“Bobby is a natural leader who has earned increasingly important leadership roles by helping his fellow caregivers succeed,” said Voss. “His track record of driving success, while strengthening a supportive and collaborative workplace culture, make him the perfect fit to take on this new role in Ada.”
Stitt earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma before transitioning to health care, graduating from nursing school at Redlands Community College. He also earned a master’s degree in management from Southern Nazarene University. He’s a native of the small farming community of Dover near Kingfisher, and he and his wife have three children and two grandchildren.
Stitt was recently recognized by Becker’s as one of 118 rural hospital and health system executives to know.
