Level 1 is the highest designation for emergency/trauma care. At any time, day or night, we have surgeons and anesthesiologists ready to tend to you or your loved one, plus quick access to specialists in orthopedics, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, radiology, internal medicine and critical care.

Our Life Line air ambulance service and Mercy EMS provide life-saving rapid response. Our Level 1 Trauma Center is a leader in safety and injury prevention in Missouri, with the state's only full-time, hospital-based injury prevention coordinator.

Mercy Kids ER

Opening Spring 2021, our new Pediatric Emergency Department will provide complete pediatric emergency care 24 hours a day, every day. A new, dedicated drop-off route and entrance, pediatric reception, triage and waiting areas means faster access to care and a safe space to guard children from situations in the adult ED that might seem frightening. 

Mercy Kids ER is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency medicine specialists, with access to child psychiatrists and psychologists, as well as child life experts who are pros at comforting young patients in times of pain or distress.
