Mercy is home to the most advanced navigation-assisted equipment available in Northwest Arkansas. The O-Arm and StealthStation platforms allow surgeons to take CT scans before, during and after surgery, helping them increase accuracy, whether placing spinal instrumentation or removing a brain tumor.
The technology is used most often for spinal surgery but is also useful for cranial surgery. It can be used for elective procedures and in trauma. Navigation assistance is ideal for a complex case because it increases accuracy while keeping the procedure as minimally invasive as possible.
Mercy Northwest Arkansas has the region’s only robotic digital microscope and navigation system. The new voice-controlled technology seamlessly combines high-tech engineering with the latest breakthroughs in 3D optics, video processing, and robotic automation, allowing our neurosurgeons to perform complex, less invasive procedures. In addition to tumor resection, the microscope can be used for spinal decompression, lumbar decompression and anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.
